Peter Goodyear:
I am agape at the ignorance of the writer of the letter that you
forwarded. "We do not use liters in this country?" Has he never bought
wine? Has he never bought soft drinks? I just bought a bottle of
California Olive Oil, and it was marked "500 ml." Little does the writer
know that the dangerous practice is NOT to use milliliters, as our own
Paul Trusten as so many times reported to us for the pharmaceutical
industry.
We in this country are doing a lousy job of education. Given how far U.S.
high schools and colleges have sunk academically in comparison to Europe,
Australia, and elsewhere, I suppose that such ignorance should not be
suprising to us. Nor should it be surprising that this individual could
not follow the simple instruction to pour 10 ml into a cap marked "10
ml."
Well, our U.S. scientists crashed the Mars probe because they didn't use
metric units correctly, so I guess we can't be to hard on this
unmetricated individual!
