With one exception, this article is entirely metric. Unfortunately, the webpage builders failed to use the <sup> command to place the "13" into the superscript position and did not use a caret in its stead, so we see "1013". Of course the spokesman could have used a unit prefix: terawatt (TW).

I think this is the first time I've seen the power rating of a hurricane being given: 50 TW to 200 TW. Likewise the rate of energy consumption by all mankind: 10 TW in 1990.
