I can add that to my letter if and when I get a chance to write them about it.

Howard et al.,

Ratios as expressions of pharmaceutical concentration have been pretty much
deprecated. Pharmaceutical manufacturers have changed their labeling from the
old “1:1000” or “1:10,000” to a clear statement of concentration of grams per
milliliter or milligrams per milliliter.
The “1:1000” expression meant “one gram per one thousand milliliters.” The old
nomenclature was error-prone, and was phased out. Thank goodness.

Interpreting 1:32 as “one gram per thirty-two milliliters,” I could not come up
with the 3.125 percent sodium hypochlorite solution predicted by those
directions, unless I’m making an error somewhere.

This is unfortunate and I need to write Clorox but they provide an information
sheet for diluted bleach solution in US Customary and metric but the metric
instructions are terrible.

“To make a 1:32 solution, add… • 1/3 cup of bleach per gallon of water • 17 ml
of bleach (1 TBSP + ½ TSP) per 32 ounce spray bottle”
