I have already sent to my state, a request to use kg/cm when expressing my height/weight on my state issued license(s).
I would like to encourage anyone on this list to do the same. To make it even easier, here is the text from the letter I sent to Georgia. To Whom It May Concern - I am an American who is told I have a choice of measurement system I am free to use in my life, but I can’t get my drivers license or state ID to display my height and weight using the International kilogram (kg) and International centimeter (cm) respectively. While this matter may not seem important to many, it is indeed important to me that I am allowed to use the system that the federal government deemed “the preferred system of weights and measures for the United States government” in the Omnibus trade and Competiveness Act of 1988 and legalized for use in the United States via the Kasson Act of 1866. There may be a bit of "snark" in my letter, but I've already written them - twice. Obviously, modify it to your needs but please write your state DMV and let your metric voice be heard.
