I’ve now read a few articles and found the AP includes metric units in most articles, even US ones, it’s apparently the editor's of US newspapers that are filtering out the metric units in AP articles. https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fapnews.com%2Farticle%2Flifestyle-technology-government-and-politics-business-342efd48a53b7b3f1e9b2df3f79d312c&data=04%7C01%7Cusma%40lists.colostate.edu%7C58992b1dd77b4fdc0f0608d91ddbf7a6%7Cafb58802ff7a4bb1ab21367ff2ecfc8b%7C0%7C0%7C637573652876612697%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=1qczzdUlemmzKZ%2F2NViIUSxdpkNu9lwL6G1XhOP%2ByRQ%3D&reserved=0 <https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fapnews.com%2Farticle%2Flifestyle-technology-government-and-politics-business-342efd48a53b7b3f1e9b2df3f79d312c&data=04%7C01%7Cusma%40lists.colostate.edu%7C58992b1dd77b4fdc0f0608d91ddbf7a6%7Cafb58802ff7a4bb1ab21367ff2ecfc8b%7C0%7C0%7C637573652876612697%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=1qczzdUlemmzKZ%2F2NViIUSxdpkNu9lwL6G1XhOP%2ByRQ%3D&reserved=0> Some articles don’t include metric, this container ship https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fapnews.com%2Farticle%2Fbusiness-health-coronavirus-pandemic-19526b24153b16744b5f727ae7c8705d&data=04%7C01%7Cusma%40lists.colostate.edu%7C58992b1dd77b4fdc0f0608d91ddbf7a6%7Cafb58802ff7a4bb1ab21367ff2ecfc8b%7C0%7C0%7C637573652876612697%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=KhL%2BnsdmufO9GA1h3jOvvrQMMqHhKgi%2BcSAEmoHAuwk%3D&reserved=0 <https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fapnews.com%2Farticle%2Fbusiness-health-coronavirus-pandemic-19526b24153b16744b5f727ae7c8705d&data=04%7C01%7Cusma%40lists.colostate.edu%7C58992b1dd77b4fdc0f0608d91ddbf7a6%7Cafb58802ff7a4bb1ab21367ff2ecfc8b%7C0%7C0%7C637573652876622696%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=c8aF8nLYTgSdJL%2Bl3qxxD6WkyJ2fdiWHnwmlj8JtKjM%3D&reserved=0> was apparently three and a half football fields long (the only measurement), I had to check this out on Wikipedia, it’s 396 metres long, I’m not sure which football field is 113m long.
