The Washington Post has a special on right now, $9.99 for a year. Why don’t you
all take out a subscription then cancel it, you still get to read the paper for
the next year anyway if you already paid the $9.99. Then send them a letter
like sent.

Put this information in the Newsletter. I’m not sure how long it will last.
They could certainly use the extra digital readership.

That's great but here's what we need to do -
We need to gather together as an organization and inundate the Washington Post
with requests to include real world units along side proprietary and arcane
"American" ones.

I was a bit naive when I sent the USMA money to join. I thought it was an
active, vocal organization. Here's just a few watershed events that have
transpired since the formation of the United States Metric Ass'n (in no
particular order) -

End of suffrage - 1920
Prohibition - 1920
Repeal of prohibition - 1933
Gay marriage - 2017
Recreational marijuana - 1995 (California with other states to follow)
Civil rights act - 1964
2 World Wars 1917 and 1941
Moon landing 1969
Polio vaccine - 1954
Rutherford splits the atom - 1932
The transistor is invented - 1947
First passenger jet - 1951
32 new elements were discovered and added to the Periodic Table

Yet, in the 106 years since the USMA has formed, I'm still not allowed to have
my height & weight represented on my drivers license using the International
System of Units.

You get the point.

Seems the USMA is more of a group of enthusiasts than an organization working
towards change.

How do we turn it up a few notches?

Go metric, America!
What are you afraid of?

I thought cancelling this subscription might have the desired effect as I live
in France. Think how many more subscriptions they could sell !

I'm cancelling my subscription to the Washington Post because you censor out
all metric units. I live in a metric world, let me know when you change
editorial policy, for now I will read news on the APNews website which includes
metric.
