On 2022-08-05, I got a call to do a topographical survey of a lot in Lake
Lure. This was my second topo, but the first with contours; the first client
wanted to know how much dirt he'd have to move to make a building pad. The
client sent me samples of a site plan with two-foot contours, the planned
location of a house and driveway, the boundary undimensioned, and a scale in
feet. I went to the lot, measured the lot corners, and took lots of ground
shots. Then I drew a map with the boundary dimensioned in meters and half-
meter contours and emailed him the CAD file (so that he can draw a house on it)
and a PDF, which I also printed and snail-mailed him.

On 2022-08-26, he told me that he knows someone who needs a topo of a lot in
Black Mountain, not the former Yugoslav republic, but a town east of
Swannanoa. This person called me and we discussed the survey briefly.
