[uug] chsh in open labs

Hey, anyone know how to change the default login shell in the CS open 
labs?  I tried chsh and it said

  chsh: can only change local entries; use ypchsh instead.

so I tried ypchsh and it said

  ypchsh: can't get local yp domain: Local domain name not set

I even tried the graphical control center under "About Myself" and it 
said "Insufficient rights."  Dr. Google was unhelpful, and I couldn't 
find anything about it in docs.cs.byu.edu.
