I agree, it's ridiculous. A programmer that doesn't have enough passion
for his editor (whatever it be) to at least find one that's useful is
really missing out. And once you've edited a file in said editor over
ssh you know there's no substitute. If I were taking CS/EE 124 I would
lobby heavily with the professor to allow me to use vim, but that aside
I am looking forward to the day when the majority of CS students at BYU
use a real editor. It's hard to swallow, but I'll say it: emacs is a
real editor.
