Community building. I'm not the slightest bit repentant for starting it. We can't talk computer 100% of the time; the occasional foray into other subjects helps build friendship and trust. I now know a little more about Gary and others. I like Gary even more knowing he has good taste in trucks. After all, this is a club not a tech support line. You admit you were warned the thread was off topic, from there it's your responsibility to kill the thread. You can manually delete, procmail out, tell your client to ignore, etc. I do the same with all lists I'm subscribed to, some topics interest me while others don't. Oh, and the new hummers are ugly. The original is beautiful in a utilitarian sort of way. You should care because the new hummer is selling well and blighting our roads with its hideousness.
