You need a lower-case "L" in your "ln" (not an upper-case "I").

jacob fugal said to use the following syntax to create a symlink
(symbolic link)...

        In -s /path/to/real/file link name

        eg.

        In -s /mnt/media/music /var/www/web_page/music
(where /var/www/web_page/ would be the web page's root)

...but i am getting the following error...

-bash: syntax error near unexpected token 'in'

i have read the man page on 'symlink' but it didn't give me anything
that help.

can anyone instruct me further on how to create a symbolic like
("shortcut," "alias")?

i am running RH 9.
