You need a lower-case "L" in your "ln" (not an upper-case "I").

...but i am getting the following error...
-bash: syntax error near unexpected token 'in'
i have read the man page on 'symlink' but it didn't give me anything
that help.
can anyone instruct me further on how to create a symbolic like
("shortcut," "alias")?
i am running RH 9.
