Last night I began installing RedHat 9 on my machine. I downloaded the
ISOs and burned them to CDR. Then I booted with the CDs I had just
made, and the computer booted normally into the RedHat 9 installation.
However, when I got to the part that asked which medium I wanted to use
to install RedHat, I selected CD-ROM, and it told me that it couldn't
find the RedHat CD in my drive. When I looked at ctrl-alt-F3 and
ctrl-alt-f4, there were error messages where the install had failed at
mounted hdb (my CD-RW drive) and some messages that indicated a bad read
to the device. I checked the CD-Rs in my other install, and they seemed
to be great, plus the fact that there were no problems booting from the
CDR. I finally ended up copying the ISOs to another partition on the
drive and using "hard drive" as my medium option for installation. But
I'd like to know what went wrong with the CD-RW drive. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Casey
