Hey folks,

Ok, remember me asking about that text editor a while back?  I found one that matches my wants/needs, and just thought I would let you all know.  First, however, I would like to say that I have been playing with vim, and although I like it, I still find a gui editor to be better for me (call it laziness).

Anyway, the editor I found is jEdit (http://www.jedit.org).  Don’t let the “j” in jEdit fool you – even though this editor is written in Java, it’s really quite fast (even on my Thinkpad 500).  Much faster than Quanta Plus, Quanta Gold, or any of the other KDE editors that almost matched my needs.

It has syntax highlighting, tabs, projects, like 30 or so plugins to add to its features, and it also runs on any platform that supports the Java Runtime Environment.  It’s really pretty cool, I highly recommend it.
