Are there any console (text mode) word processors for Linux? Yeah, I know about LaTeX. I even use it sometimes. But whatever happened to WordStar? I did some googling once and didn't find much, if anything.
The reason I ask (if I must have a reason) is that I'd like to be able to say that I can do everything in a text box. I can browse the web, read my email, even watch DVDs, but I can't do the one school invariably asks me to do eventually: write papers.
Again, I use LaTeX, but there's something about it that just isn't for writting a simple term paper. What I'm looking for is WordPerfect, sorta.
Anyone ever use such a thing? I submit it as a challenge to those of you who (like me) like to claim you can live in a text world and get along just fine.
