I have had very bad luck with Maxell discs. I bought a stack of 100 once and 60+ became coasters. I tried reinstallation of software, reconfigs and multiple different burners. Nada but coasters. Luckily, I still had my receipt and managed to get my money back.
I personally prefer Verbatim or Memorex. So far it has spit out 3 coasters after burning anywhere from 1-2MB on them and then cdrecord complained about Medium error. I'm guessing these are just cheap, crappy quality CD-R's and that I'll have to get new ones to make this drive happy. It burns just fine onto my CD-RW's. So, anybody got any suggestions on brands/places for good, preferably inexpensive CD-R's? Oh, in case it matters, the current ones my drive doesn't like are Maxell 700MB certified to 40X so if anyone was planning to suggest those then forget about it. Looking through my current burned CD's, it looks like the set I had the fewest coasters with was some Memorex disks. Anyone know if they are good enough that I should get some of them? -- Michael Golden <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ____________________ BYU Unix Users Group http://uug.byu.edu/ ___________________________________________________________________ List Info: http://uug.byu.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/uug-list
