This has already been answered, but FWIW I don't think it has anything to do with your version of vim but rather your (and/or your system's) vimrc. I'd sooner blame how distros have changed over the past two years. AFAIK this is and has been vim's default. (but I could be wrong - no research has been done). I use wildmode=3Dlist:longest in my .vimrc. * Ross Werner [Wed, 3 Sep 2003 at 16:31 -0600] <quote> > in these newfangled versions of vim, when I :e a new file and try to > autocomplete, instead of simply completing up to the next ambiguity, it > will try and "guess" which file I want and autocomplete that, and then > hitting tab further will cycle through the rest of the files. It's nice if you're very forgetful like I am. >=20 > Thanks in advance, > Ross, still coping with the "everything's changed in the past two years! > well, except for everything's still the same..." syndrome. >=20 >=20 > ____________________ > BYU Unix Users Group=20 > http://uug.byu.edu/=20 > ___________________________________________________________________ > List Info: http://uug.byu.edu/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/uug-list </quote> --=20 Hans Fugal | De gustibus non disputandum est. http://hans.fugal.net/ | Debian, vim, mutt, ruby, text, gpg http://gdmxml.fugal.net/ | WindowMaker, gaim, UTF-8, RISC, JS Bach --------------------------------------------------------------------- GnuPG Fingerprint: 6940 87C5 6610 567F 1E95 CB5E FC98 E8CD E0AA D460 --vtzGhvizbBRQ85DL Content-Type: application/pgp-signature Content-Disposition: inline -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQE/Vz2m/JjozeCq1GARAq9dAKC3i8FN9AVlbQ1LmrwAOy6g788/yACeN6kh 7NCkFjI/RkfLHvCN/l/bOCs= =jbBH -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --vtzGhvizbBRQ85DL--
