Another question. I'm running Gentoo with all the latest packages. The CD player doesn't seem to work just right. When I put a CD in, the default CD player starts, and says that it is playing, but no music comes out of the system speakers. I know that the sound system works, because I can play MP3s from XMMS just fine. I've verified that the CD-ROM is actually reading, because the earphone jack on the front of the drive works. The sound is just getting lost somewhere between the drive and my speakers. Am I missing something? Is there a special setting that needs to get set?
