Well, after much trial and error, I tried this: hostname -v localhost domainname -v localhost
and that seemed to do the trick. I guess since my ISP had assigned me a different address that didn't correspond to the DNS looked-up address for my domain name, it was refusing to run. Thanks for the suggestions.
