My new laptop uses ACPI but I'm having a lot of problems with it. It tells me a lot of info in /proc about battery life, temperatures, etc, but it looks like suspend-to-ram and suspend-to-disk aren't supported (if so, not well at all).
Has anyone gotten any type of suspend working yet? If not, do you ACPI
users have to turn off your laptops if you throw them in your backpack
(I don't want it to overheat in there)? I'm just trying to find an
efficient way to move around without killing my batteries.

P.S. It looks like my laptop might support APM, but if so, it's just as
bad as ACPI. I can't suspend or anything like that. Also, if APM is
enabled in my kernel (or as a module) my wireless card module can't be
modprobe'd.
P.P.S. I have a Sony Vaio V505BX
