It is difficult to tell, because capitalism like physics always seems to work in methods of least resistance. In fact that is central enough to phisics that a reasonable TOE must intuitively verify it. I believe capatilism espouses this principle even more dearly.
My policy has been to buy a new distro rather than download it. This is not the path of least resistance for me. So, my new Gentoo system came today in a hand bought stamped, not metered, padded mailer addressed by hand. Inside were release notes signed by Mr. Daniel Robbins, Chief Architect, himself, or his proxy, I guess. The distro itself is inscribed on 2 CDR's in a cd wallet page. I feel special now. Don't you wish now that you bought your gentoo distro instread of just downloading it?
