I did end up getting a USB 2.0 drive and have actually gotten about 380
Mbps(MB/s? couldn't tell), but the it actually works really well.  The
only thing that I forgot to get was one that was powered by usb.  The
model that I ended up getting has to be powered externally, but most
places that I go, I can plug into.
