I hadn't used Wine since the end of 2000, and this evening I emerged it and played around with it a bit. It's advanced a ton.
I haven't done extensive testing yet, but it looks like PAF 5 is working for me to some degree. With a little voodoo I was even able to install it with InstallShield. All of this is without a copy of Windows on my system (when I tried it a few years ago you wouldn't dream of running Wine without a Windows installation). The main problem I've seen so far is that when you're editing individuals' information, inactive fields tend to hide from you, but you can get to them by clicking on them (so it's usable but not pretty). I created a file and added three names, and other than what I've just mentioned it worked perfectly excepting minor font errors. Tomorrow I'll try loading a real file and see what happens. Even if things don't work out perfectly, it's exciting to see progress, and I wouldn't be surprised if it's usable either now or in the near future. -- Andrew McNabb http://www.mcnabbs.org/andrew/ PGP Fingerprint: 8A17 B57C 6879 1863 DE55 8012 AB4D 6098 8826 6868
