If it isn't already bootable (some are) you can try installing Smart BootManager. It's the only boot manager I know of that claims to be able to boot off of some (definitely not all) pcmcia cdroms. <http://btmgr.sourceforge.net/> SBM lives entirely in the MBR. It doesn't know about Linux so it doesn't replace lilo or grub, but it does a couple of things they can't do.
