An interesting note from O'Reilly:

"No Starch Press, Paraglyph Press, and Syngress Publishing books are now available for review."

<http://www.nostarch.com/>
<http://www.paraglyphpress.com/>
<http://www.syngress.com/>

Some of these (particularly syngress) look like they are mostly windows books. I won't order windows books for the club unless you have a really convincing reason why it would be useful to us. No Starch has some cool stuff though. Please go check out their sites and see if they have something that would be useful for the club to own.

Here's the catch though: I'm not ordering any more books until I get more reviews. Some of you have had your books for nearly a year (or a great deal more) and haven't given me anything. That's very bad for our relationship with O'Reilly. So if you're not guilty and you'd like to review a book put pressure on those who are slacking.

If you already spoke to me about a book you wanted it's probably on it's way.

I hate to be mean about this, but O'Reilly has given us a lot without us giving much in return.

I'd email you all directly, but as you can see on <http://uug.byu.edu/library.php> several of you have disappeared from the club roster so I no longer have any idea who you are. That doesn't mean that I can't find out and track you down if I have to, it just means it's less convenient.

Besides, it's not that hard to write a review. Here's some help:

And here are some examples:
