I'm running Debian/sid, and recently (within the last few months) I've noticed that X will sometimes take over my processor. Sometimes the X will have been running for days when it starts and sometimes just hours. It's pretty noticeable because even the mouse moves slowly across the screen. When I run top it shows XFree86 using 97% of the CPU. I don't have any graphically-intensive programs running on my machine, and the only way I can get it to stop is by logging out and restarting X. Has anyone else experienced this? Any possible solutions?
