The nice thing about Gentoo is that as far as packages are concerned, all
the archs stay fairly well in sync (and if not, it's really easy to hack).
I haven't used PPC, but Debian/Alpha was always a bit behind Debian/x86.  Of
course, this isn't an issue with Yellow Dog, but I think that if you've got
a home system of a non-x86 arch, then Gentoo is the way to go.  Then again,
I think Gentoo is the way to go in pretty much every circumstance...
