I've never used either, but from the documentation, it also seems that MythTV is built on a client-server architecture, meaning you can have the recording "backend" separate from the viewing "frontend". There's even an attempt I've found to build a windows frontend (see http://sourceforge.net/projects/winmyth/), though it's still in alpha.

Other than that, it's just like has been said. Freevo seems to have less features, especially when it comes to live tv pausing, etc.

What's the difference between MythTV and FreeVo? I've only heard of FreeVo.



I've never used FreeVo, but having looked at their FAQ, it looks like they're really weak on features.
