Yeah, just do what one of my co-workers did a couple of months ago. He bought a small form factor, low-power computer, built a touch-screen LCD panel into his stereo slot in his Subaru, and hooked up a USB knob to control the volume. He uses a USB interface to copy arbitary media files onto his computer, and he has some media player controlling the whole thing. Back when he was still beta testing it, he had to cover up the lower part of the screen to make everything fit, and I accidentally minimized the application once, and I could not get to the application bar. He had to turn off his car to reboot the computer. :-)

I would have put in a Wireless card, so I could control it from my computer, and upload music. It's a good idea though.
