Closing Date: 8/8/2008 Supplemental Questionnaire Required with Application The City of Gresham is seeking an exceptional GIS Analyst to join the Maps and Data Services Program. Position: The GIS Analyst is a technical lead in a team that creates, maintains and utilizes GIS in support of City-wide activities. Under limited supervision, the GIS Analyst coordinates and implements mapping and analysis projects. Other duties include developing and documenting standard protocols, custom systems and task automation tools in a collaborative environment; creating charts, reports and presentations; providing technical assistance and training to City-wide staff and conducting quality review of maps and data products. This position serves as a liaison to various City Departments and as a representative of the City in the region. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and three years of experience working with mapping and spatial analysis and using computer software applications that include ESRI products and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with any of the following is desirable: Scripting/programming, ESRI's ModelBuilder, mobile mapping, remote sensing, relational database management systems (RDBMS), CAD, surveying, statistical analysis, engineering drawings and public works infrastructure. The successful candidate will be required to exercise analytical and problem-solving skills as well as demonstrate the ability to lead work teams to meet project goals and objectives. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and customer service instincts.
