Harmon, Windows 7 with the UAC could experience that error if doing an installation using an account that does not have administrative privileges.
The processes in task manager to look for are: ksh, init, inetd, sshd, Xwin, and ums. If none of those exist than it is safe to install UWIN. Jeff Fellin -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Harmon Sent: Tuesday, May 07, 2013 14:29 To: [email protected] Subject: [uwin-users] UWIN installation problem I am attempting to install UWIN on win 7 system. When UWIN settup is invoked to install UWIN 5.0, it opens a CMD window which says "UWIN processes are running in 'C:\Program Files\UWIN' attempting to stop them. .... It finally says they must be stopped manually. I look at processes in "Task Manager", but none of the tasks there show a reference to UWIN. How can I move forward with installation.
