Do you have an antivirus program installed on your W7 but not on your XP? I've had no end of problems because my antivirus finds "suspicious behavior" with UWIN (and sometimes acts without telling me)

Betreff: [uwin-users] uwin dies on windows 7
I am running the most recent uwin download (base 1012-08-06...64.exe on
windows 7 64 bit, and the 32 bit version on a virtual xp, same machine.
The executable on windows 7 drops out after two carriage returns
independently of any preceding text. I just installed the 32 bit version
on my Oracle virtual box running xp sp3, and it appears so far to be
working perfectly with the exception of running very slowly. Is there
something I am doing wrong with the win7 installation? I earlier tried
the 32 bit installation that I read would also run on win7 64 bit, and
it did the same thing, dropping out after two carriage returns. It is
also interesting that any simple shell commands in the first and only
two lines are not executed.
