Last week I had to reinstall uwin 4.5, as my OS had messed up several programs.

So I set up groff, version 1.20.1 again, and have run into a
problem with how it outputs to my hp printer. The script I have
always used is:

groff -mm -Tlj4 -rL10i -rd=$dte -rt=`date '+%H%M'` $1.$is | lp

The problem I have encountered is that whatever appears in my text
that looks like a code to the printer (or groff?) prints out whatever that code represents. For instance the word 'office' prints out as o1/2ice. Is there a command that tells either the software or the printer to print exactly what it receives and not to interpret character sequences as codes? I don't remember ever having these problems before with the same version of groff.

Thanks.
Mike
