Hi, you need a couple of tweaks:

The glob in --emperor must be enclosed in "" otherwise the shell will
expand it:

../uwsgi --emperor "$BASEDIR/vassal-sites/*/*.xml"

In xml config files you have to use %d to get the directory of the config
files

site1.xml will become

<uwsgi>
   <home>%d/ve</home>
   <chdir>%d</chdir>
   <socket>/tmp/sockets/%s.sock</socket>
   <module>%s</module>
</uwsgi>
