So far as I know PEP 444 ( Web3 ) is stalled.
PEP 3333 supercedes PEP 333. It was necessary since Python3 unicode broke
wsgi.
PEP 3333 exists now and works. It is implemented in Python 3.2's wsgiref.
For me, using PEP 3333 is as simple as returning bytes instead of strings from
my WSGI apps.
Example ( tested with uwsgi built using make -f Makefile.Py32 ):
import time
def application(environ,start_response):
start_response("200 OK", [ ('Content-type','text/plain') ] )
yield bytes( 'Hello %s' % time.time(),
'utf-8')

As the matter is the Web3 and Py3 ?
I noticed that 0.9.7-dev still uses PEP 3333
