Here is a link to debian package:

I would recommend virtualenv for uwsgi/python deployment.

# apt-get install python-virtualenv
$ virtualenv env

In most cases LTS version is good to go for python:

$ env/bin/pip install http://projects.unbit.it/downloads/uwsgi-lts.tar.gz

orĀ 

$ env/bin/pip install "uwsgi<1.9"
