Calling run() in the callable means not leaving control to uWSGI (and
maybe it is what is generating that strange error)

i would reqrite the wsgi script as:

from app import create_app
application = create_app()

and option -w to

-w wsgi

(and remove 'module' and 'callable' directive from the ini file)
