Indeed I upgraded the whole stack with nginx 1.5 and uwsgi 2.0.6 on a new server, and the problem persists.
I will continue investigating with Pimcore guys, seems like the issue is there (extra leading blank line in response body). Thanks for your help! -- Jean-Baptiste Quenot
