Hi Tech Listers. A couple of recent posts need a reply. To the guy who was
asking about tools, what should I buy? After 35 years of wrenching I've
owned every type and price of tool you can think of. There is only one
piece of advice I'd give. "Buy the best tools you can afford". PERIOD. The
difference between working all day with cheap tools versus good ones is
something you can't appreciate untill you've done it. I used to think that
pro mechanics that wouldn't use anything but Snap-on were goofy. Untill I
did a complete engine rebuild (V8) using my friends set of Snap-ons. They
were so light weight, so well fitting, so easy to use, that it seemed the
tools were doing most of the work. You won't ever regret buying a tool that
makes you smile when you use it.
Subject 2: Maxers in Sac. area. Add my name. I'm only 90 min. north. Near
Chico. I'm hoping to make your next tech clinic, Paul. I'm taking my Max to
Thunderhill Raceway for track day, April 24th. And I need to sync my carbs
and adjust valves.
