I used the Borg Warner part. Any equivalent sub should be the same.
The connection of the wires does not matter. That is as long as you don't
connect both wires from the switch to each other!

This is simply a switch that closes when it gets to a preset temperature.
The original Yamaha switch comes on at too high a temperature. This causes
Max to run hot in stop-and-go traffic. The new switch makes the fan come on
earlier to keep things cooler.

By the way, step #2 for better cooling is probably a better fan. I think
Holeshot sells them. There are also replacement radiators. Luckily, I have
not had to get either.
