Doug,
I am sure they work ... I had the pleasure of watching Steve Burnett
run a few times at Bandimere back in '94. I think with 5-8 lbs you
could probably do "real" well with one of these on the street.
Buttttttttt ... I think if RB is putting 15 lbs on a stock engine with
stock compression ratio that it might not be around a long time. My
real interest however was in the fuel injection ... I am curious how
they maintain injector pressure without running a fuel pump all the
time .... (I need to do more research on existing street bikes that
come from the factory with fuel injection I guess). It seems that this
would make short work of the battery without doing some serious
upgrading of the stator and battery. As far as RB ... I suppose anyone
who does something like this is going to get it from someone ... set
up and refinement to prevent the hate and discontent I found on the
"turbo" list takes time and "some" effort .... it just doesn't appear
they have expended too much of the effort part or that they have
already tired of the phone time that comes with the business. Also ...
if you are going to do a "blow through" ... I can't imagine why it
wouldn't be a good idea to drive one of these "Paxton" style
superchargers off of the crank, (like a regular supercharger
take-off). It would seem that this would require even less of a
fitment challenge .... than either a turbo or a manifold mounted
supercharger. Blah ... blah .. blah ... sorry ...
