Paul,
I use a "headlamp" switch ... and it is mounted on the black fascia in
front of the air cover on the left side of the bike, (where the
throttle cables pass though). It is the common black plastic SPST type
of toggle switch that is usually available at most automotive stores
.... I had a problem with the first one ... it got dry I guess from
the weather ... and the action started getting rough until I broke the
handle off, (operating it with gloves on). After putting the second
one on ... I started giving it a shot of WD40 a couple of times a year
and it has been in service since 1995. I suppose a metal switch with
an water/explosion proof rubber cover would be better but these
"plastic" dash switches have nice wide short handles on them; are very
in-expensive and last a long time if you give them the WD40 every once
and a while.

Subject: Waterproof Switches?

> I'm going to install a switch so that I can manually turn the fan on
whenever I want (as alot of you have). I was wondering what sort of
switch to use. It seems it would have to be waterproof, and I was
wondering where the best place to get such a thing would be (for
example, the person at my Radio Shack was no help).
