I found a super sticky rubber cement that is fuel resistant...

as for preventing the [ carb ; ) ]diaphram tears, Arthur McGregor offered
this tip before:"...some of this damage is done to the diaphram by the sharp
edge
on the inner face of the cover. Created when the flat face surfaced at
factory.
Suggest: remove the four covers and smooth the inner rim with small half
round file and then finish off with sand paper before this damage is
done."
