What have you been running ?? The G525/526 combo ?? I have a G702
159/90/15 on the rear of my Royal Star with a 4" rim .... it is an
original equipment tire for the Royal. I hadn't thought about using
the 702 on the Max but I suppose it is not out of the question ... it
is a bias-belted tire with a very flat/straight sidewall, not mushroom
shaped like the 526 at all ... of course it could just be looking like
that to me because of the wider rim. I don't think an evaluation of
the tire on the Royal would lead to any valid conclusions for use on
the Vmax .... my first one picked up a nail at < 1K miles and I have
only had the Royal for about 6 months. Other Royal owners have told me
to expect 15K on this tire ... (sans nails), and of course the Royal
is 725 lbs wet ... 100 lbs heavier than the Max. The 702 has very deep
tread ... and doesn't take much extra throttle to oversteer it out of
a corner, (a funny feeling the first couple of times it happens to
you). Since the Max can place substantially more hoof power to the
rear coming out of a corner and is lighter to boot .... I wouldn't
personally be interested in having this tire back there ... and it
doesn't meet "my" aggressive profile requirements for the Max ......
