Ross,
I have no previous experience with those filters, but I imagine,
they're OK.
The thing that most people doesn't understand is, don't matter which brand of
synthetic oil you buy, the base stock comes from Mobil.
Granted!, every company adds their additives package to the synthetic base
stock, i.e.
Redline, Bel-Ray, Wolf Head, Torco, Royal Purple, Motul, etc.
Another misconception is the Redline "Water Wetter". This product is designed
to be used with WATER!!! It only treats the WATER!!! not antifreeze!!!!
I don't mean to say it won't work on a V-Max 50/50 cooling system, but the
improvement will be minimal, compared to the advantages of using it with
straight water.
I spoke with a ex-Redline representative, (who now works for Royal Purple) at
the AMI in Daytona, and their product is exactly the same as Water Wetter, but
with purple color. He said, if you just run water in your cooling system, the
product will work great, but with the 50/50 mix, you're just wasting your
money.
