Is it still running ??!?? I think you are really doing it correctly.
If you push on the center stand pedal with your foot and lift up on
the seat rail it should pop right up there. I know it is tough to
trust putting all your weight on the stand pedal but if you can feel
both feet, (of the stand), touching the ground you know it is level
and can't go anywhere. IMHO ...
