Sat Tara,
I purchased my '93 new in Denver ... and noted that it had 152.5 mains
.. and infact .. identical jetting applicable to all non-California ..
US models for that year. The only thing that I noticed was that the
plugs would always run a little on the dark side .. but never to the
extent that they would fluff etc. While in Denver I took the "Y" off
of the stock airbox and that seemed to be the ticket at the time ...
as I never had any problem with "off idle" hesitation or bad behavior.
Of course .. when I came to Phoenix ... 1150 feet ... I was in trouble
and I have not found my "Y" to this day ... so then I rejetted to
support the difference.
I really can't imagine taking delivery on the same bike at this
altitude, (Phoenix), without it being a real pain in the butt ........
Another consideration however is the disparity in average temperature
between Phoenix and Denver ... had it been as cool here as it was in
Denver things would have been even worse.
Could you jet down a little up there and benefit ?? I don't know ...
if it would make enough difference to be worth the trouble ... I wish
I had tried it and could comment in that regard ...
While the Vmax is not short of power at any altitude ... it is
irritating to have to toss away 15% +, (3% per 1000 feet), just
because you live in Denver. The average difference for a stock Vmax
running a 1/4 mile track in Phoenix and Denver is almost 1 full second
....... My wife's Corvette couldn't even burn rubber when it lived in
Denver .. but it sure can down here !! ;>) Believe it or not ....
that was one the main reasons I decided to move to Phoenix in the
first place, (single license tags, stucco buildings, palm trees and
"low altitude").
regards,
campbell
