I have tried the 2 diode connection as described in previous digests, but it
still causes the opposing coil to fire. The diodes got very hot and only
worked for about 20 seconds.
I called Autometer tech support and they told me that automotive tachs would
not work on bikes and that there was no way to get it to work properly
(sounds like a cop-out)
Then I found Autometer part #19241 "Tach adapter for 2 coil setup"; listed
for Harleys with 2 coil setups. I ordered one and I'll leave a posting with
the results.
