Kevin,
I don't but when you find a place to do this properly please post ...
I have been trying to write something up with "accurate" measurements
so I could send it around and see if I could get a bite ... like to
Currie, (who does custom rear end fabrication), and places like that.
People who understand the concept of maintaining alignment. I would
love to find someone to lengthen a stock/reinforced swingarm to
accommodate a Royal Star drive shaft which happens to be approximately
1 1/2 inches longer than a Vmax.
The only place I am aware of at this time that sells an extended arm
retail is Mek ... check out ...
http://www.vmax-mek.com/alu_schwinge.htm ... these guys are 50mm, (2
inch), longer than a stock swingarm and are widened to take their
6.5/17 inch wheel for 200 series tires etc ... the only bad part about
this deal ... from what I can tell ... is about 29XX DM, (which I
think is somewhere around $1300 - $1400 US .. yikes !!). Of course you
aren't though yet ... you wouldn't be able to live without the wheels
to go with it ... (the price of these will make your Dymags change
color). They have a similar arm .. in a stock length that is much less
expensive.
I don't think it is asking too much to have someone lengthen one of
these and still have everything pointing in the same direction ... but
I am not aware of a place to have this done yet. Hopefully, someone
will post who has done this or has done additional research. Of course
.. there is always a possibility of modifying an existing swingarm
that is already longer. (from a different bike), but again .. a lot
more research needs to be done to find a way to do this economically.
IMHO ..... Then there are longer shocks .. etc ..etc .......
