CS,
Again ... IMHO .. (my opinion) ... Yes .. you have 4 carbs and 4 coils
etc ... and each coil is fired by it's own lead from the ignitor.
However ... since this bike runs ... (your ref: " when i get about 1/4
mile from home.then i realized it was still smoking"), I don't think
you have an electrical problem. If the PAJ1 at the top of the carb
gets plugged or if an enrichment valve get stuck, (from the last time
you decelerated), you will blow gray smoke, (gas). The symptoms you
describe are typical for plugged pilot jets ... in this case the "air"
is plugged instead of the whole mixture ... so you run entirely too
rich at idle and on the low end. Take a compressed air gun and blow
these guys out ... If you haven't had your mixture screws out then
don't bother ... just blow air into the big jet at the top of the
carb, (cover the balance of the carb with a rag because fuel will
squirt straight up in the air), or blow the one out behind the slide
rubber, (PAJ2). It doesn't really matter "that" much ... you just need
to pressurize this circuit ... Check you plugs and make sure they are
not gapped too close ....... .032-.035 inch in the manual. Tell your
mechanic not to quit his day job ...
