Gary, according to an old article I have, The v-max
heads have been changed to accomadate more fuel and
air, enlarged valves, with narrower stems and
guides,
with stiffer springs.Max cams have 32degrees more
overlap, more lift and duration.
The max has lightened pistons and wrist pins, but it
has stronger connecting rods, the max crankshaft has
additional heat treatment and hardening for the
heavier loads, and a smaller alternator to decrease
flyweel inertia. This article was written in 1986,
claims same displacement 1198cc.it implied 1200cc
venture motor.
Don't know about the 1300 cc venture motor,
or what differences. hope it helped AL H.
